Bold and boxy sign lettering style based on a vintage showcard adverting a limited time innerspring mattress sale.

In the old days, a big part of sign writer’s business was to produce showcards,  small signs on stiff card which vendors would place in the window of their stores to advertise sales and specials.

Its not clear when this particular sign was created but the mattress in question was $14.95 (regularly $17.95) or 50¢ a week.

Today they’re generally a little more expensive!
