Sleek retro sans with unusually tall capitals and ascenders, based on the hand-rendered title of the promotional house plan booklet “Research Designed Homes: Living Units”.

Based on a study  by the Small Homes Council, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and sponsored by the Lumber Dealers Research Council it was published in 1951.  The cover contained an area where lumber dealers could customize it with their names and contact information.

An excellent example of golden age era design and illustration, full of beautiful gouache paintings and pen and ink renderings.
