Thialion, a laxative salt of lithia, was manufactured and sold between 1898 and 1920. Produced by the Vass Chemical Company of Danbury, Connecticut. Used therapeutically by physicians to treat an array of ailments including headaches, alcoholism, rheumatism, gout, apoplexy, neuralgia, menopause, obesity, lead poisoning, malaria, muscular and nervous disorders, many diseases of the liver, stomach, kidneys, bladder and other intestinal problems.
