Big Daddy Roth (1932-2001) was an iconic illustrator, musician, custom car designer and  pin-striper. A huge figure in Southern California’s Kustom Kulture during the 50s and 60s. He created his Mickey Mouse anti-hero “Rat Fink”, the hot rod scenes nasty official mascot in 1963.

That same year, the Hawk Model Company created it’s “Weird-Oh’s” series of plastic model kits, featuring caricatures of hot rods being driven by huge weird-oh monsters with bulging eyes and lolling tongues. Along with Digger where another motley crew of characters like Drag Hag, Endsville Eddie, Huey’s Hot Rod and several others.
