The Great Garloo was a popular battery-powered toy, with a wired remote-control manufactured by Marx Toys in 1961. He was two-foot tall, green and scaly with a leopard print loincloth. He could move forward and backward on his wheeled feet, turn right and left, bend and clasp small objects with powerful, pincer-like arms. Marketed as a “mighty, untamed, and terrible” monster that a child could control as a their “faithful servant”.

Original Great Garloos are now sought after by collectors of vintage toys.
