Living Dead – 345 glyphs, 4 weights.

Strong, groovy display chiseled from a headstone, based on the posters of the horror film “Night of the Living Dead”.

Released in 1968, this American independent horror film is the archetypical zombie movie that launched a sub genre. Written by John Russo and George A. Romero, who also directed this low-budget yet groundbreaking production.

Starring  Duane Jones, Judith O’Dea, Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Judith Ridley, and Keith Wayne as a disparate group of people trapped together in a Pennsylvanian farmhouse that’s under siege from a seemingly never ending sea of reanimated corpses.

Genre defining in so many ways, it also featured Duane Jones as the first African-American heroic lead in an American horror film, which defied the industry conventions of its day.

This film is also unimaginably in the public domain in the U.S. due to an early distributer’s error which accidentally removed the copyright notice from the title cards.
