Gladiola – 256 glyphs, 4 weights.

A strangely metallic display face with strong angles based on the “Gladiola Flour” logo from the 1940s.

This brand of flour was first milled in Wolfe City, then in Fort Worth by the Gladney Milling Company, owned and operated by Sam Gladney.  His wife Edna Browning Gladney is remembered as  a great crusader for the Texas Children’s Home and Aid Society. Her good works helped change the laws in regards to the rights of adopted children.

Edna’s life was fictionalized in the 1941 film “Blossoms in the Dust”, starring Greer Garson.
