In the 50s, 60s and 70s, some movie theatres would put on these spectacles.  Along with the cartoons and the schlocky double feature, there would be a cavalcade of monsters interacting with the audience live on stage, scaring everyone silly and conducting games and giveaways .  They were always hosted by a master of ceremonies such as the good professor himself.

Doesn’t that sound actually worth the price of admission.
